Ivette Vera-Perez is a recognized leader with over 20 years of experience in energy, cleantech, and sustainability. Her background includes strategic planning, business development, and advancing low-carbon solutions through cross-sector collaboration. She holds a Master of Applied Science from UBC and an MBA from McGill University. Before joining the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI), Ivette served as President and CEO of the Canadian Hydrogen Association, where she led the rebranding the organization, expanded its national footprint and more than doubled its membership base. She worked closely with the federal government to advance Canada’s Hydrogen Strategy. Earlier, she led the national industry team at Mitacs and managed over $275 million in GHG reduction programs at the Ontario Centres of Innovation. Ivette has served on the boards of Canada Cleantech Alliance and the Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance, is a founding Director of the Ontario Clean Technology Industry Association (OCTIA) and currently sits on the NRC’s Clean Energy Innovation Research Centre Advisory Board.

Doug is the President of Park Derochie Canada and EVP of PD Group of Companies. Starting a career back in 1979 with Park Derochie Doug brings with him more than 25 years of overall construction experience. In 2003, a move back to Park Derochie was like going back to his roots. Working in Project Management/Business Development roles on large scale Alberta Oil and Gas projects originally, the last 16 years has been building further footprint in Saskatchewan, BC, Manitoba and Ontario in areas of Mining, Oil and Gas, Water and Waste Water Treatment., as well as taking on a Business Development role with the company came further opportunities. Doug currently works across Park Derochie’s operation on business growth and strategy, Indigenous Engagement and Partnerships. A large amount of time has been working on Park Derochie’s Nuclear growth in Ontario and Western Canada.

Tom Uzzell is the President and CEO of Framatome Canada Ltd., where he is responsible for leading the company’s business operations, managing resources, making strategic business decisions, and establishing objectives that support long-term growth and success. Tom has been with Framatome since 2011 and has held a variety of leadership and management positions, including Project Manager and Conventional Services and Hardware Product Line Manager. Through these roles, he has developed extensive experience in project execution, operations management, business leadership, and strategic planning. Prior to joining Framatome, Tom owned and operated a construction business for several years, gaining valuable hands-on experience in business management, operations, and customer relations. This entrepreneurial background, combined with his extensive experience at Framatome, has provided him with a broad and diverse skill set that supports his current leadership responsibilities. Tom currently serves on the Framatome Canada Ltd. Board of Directors and is also a member of the Isogen Board

David joined Bruce Power as Vice President of Supply Chain in February 2023 to focus on Supply Chain excellence and transformation. During his career David has served in both Operations and Supply Chain leadership positions in the Americas, Europe and China. He as led several significant growth opportunities, including acquisitions in Asia Pacific, India and Turkey. He is credited with driving significant improvements in safety, product quality, manufacturing costs, and total system costs to operations globally. David received his degree in Materials Logistics Management from Michigan State University. He is married with three kids and enjoys travelling, boating, skiing, raising honeybees and cooking with his family.

With a proven track record in commercial negotiations and project delivery, Zeina has successfully led high-profile assignments for the Darlington Refurbishment Project, the Darlington Small Modular Reactor, and now the Pickering Refurbishment. In addition to her experience leading high-profile assignments in the energy sector, Zeina brings expertise from the aerospace sector where she led multi-billion-dollar deals and corporate restructurings.

As Vice President, Key Accounts and Stakeholder Management at Candu Energy Inc., an AtkinsRéalis company, Maura McDonald is responsible for Global Key Accounts, the majority of which are made up of Global CANDU® fleet clients. In this capacity, she provides strategic oversight on global business development and market growth, working collaboratively with key industry stakeholders. Functionally, she oversees Key Account Management for Candu’s Global OEM Services business. OEM Services is responsible for engineering and field inspection, maintenance, and nuclear-specified and manufactured parts for all existing CANDU® reactors globally. Maura also manages the Candu proposals group while working cooperatively with the broader AtkinsRéalis team to manage stakeholder relationships. Her range of experience with Candu Energy includes the MONARK Project, Marketing & Business Development, and Governance and Deployment, where her portfolio included market strategy and multi-tier stakeholder engagement. In this capacity, she was responsible for the execution of key strategies that prepare Ontario, Canada and the globe for the next CANDU new build. Before joining Candu Energy in 2020, Maura was Engineering Manager at Acuren Nuclear Services, Inc., overseeing the establishment and implementation of the N299.1 program. Prior to Acuren, Maura worked as an independent consultant at Bruce Power, delivering key system design updates executed during online outages. Her early career started on the Bruce Power Units 1&2 Restart Refurbishment Project, initially supporting the balance of plant field engineering with the majority of time supporting the modification and maintenance certification, return-to-service, and available-for-service of key systems, including vault, airlocks, feeders and fuel channels. Maura is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario and holds a Master of Engineering from the Faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto.

As Vice-President, Supply Chain management, Adrian leads the company’s overall supply chain strategy. Before joining Candu Energy in 2024, Adrian spent 40 years managing supply chains in the UK, Europe, Middle East & North Africa, and since 2016 in Canada and the United States. Jonathan Barr

Nuclear Sector Leader, Flowserve Corporation

Jonathan Barr is Flowserve’s Nuclear Sector Leader, responsible for advancing the company’s flow control technologies, solutions, and services supporting the global expansion of nuclear energy. He leads Flowserve’s nuclear power strategy and partnerships across the global nuclear power industry, driving growth through plant life extension, power uprates, reactor restarts, and new reactor deployment, including large reactors and small modular reactors. Jonathan brings two decades of experience in nuclear energy across technology, economics, strategy, and policy. He previously served as the White House Assistant Director for Nuclear Energy, where he led domestic nuclear energy policy efforts and was lead author of the first-of-its-kind U.S. strategy for safely and responsibly expanding nuclear energy. Prior to this role, Jonathan spent over 17 years in positions of increasing responsibility at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, including Executive Technical Assistant to the Executive Director for Operations, where he led high-visibility initiatives related to nuclear power safety, licensing, economics, and policy. Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both in materials science and engineering, as well as an MBA from the University of Maryland.

Sean Jones serves as Vice President, APX Supply Chain for Westinghouse Electric Company. In this role, he leads the global strategic direction of all internal and external supply chain and procurement activities for AP1000 ® PWR projects and advanced reactor technologies. Additionally, Sean oversees supplier strategy, commercial execution and delivery performance across a portfolio of complex, large scale nuclear new build programs worldwide. Previously, Sean held successive leadership roles within the global supply chain organization, with a strong focus on AP1000 ® Supplier Performance, project delivery and international procurement management.

Mike Scott is the Founder and Managing Partner of Pelican Energy Partners, a specialized private equity firm focused on strategic investments in energy services and manufacturing companies. Under his leadership, Pelican has raised and managed commitments totaling more than $1 billion across four funds, backing 30 platform companies with 14 realizations. The firm’s first three funds targeted oilfield equipment and service businesses, establishing a reputation for disciplined investing, operational excellence, and trusted partnerships. In 2023, recognizing the emerging opportunities and critical national importance of nuclear energy, he launched a private equity fund dedicated exclusively to control buyout and growth investments in nuclear energy services and equipment companies, raising $450 million in commitments. This groundbreaking platform positioned Pelican as a leader in the next chapter of the U.S. energy transition. In doing so, Scott was able to assemble a distinguished investor base of more than 30 former CEOs, 20 former energy company owners, and leading endowments, foundations, pensions, and family offices. Prior to founding Pelican, Scott was a Principal at Sorenson Capital Partners, a private equity firm with $650 million under management, where he led multiple energy services and adjacent-sector investments. He previously served as Chairman of NCS Energy Services and as a Director of Southeast Directional Drilling and M&M Pipeline. Scott previously held leadership positions at Cameron International Corporation including corporate development, global sourcing, and lean manufacturing initiatives across the U.S. and Europe. As an engineer at Valtek International and AlliedSignal, he designed products for industrial power generation, earned multiple technical awards, and received five patents. Scott holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. With over 24 years of experience in energy and private equity, he is recognized for building category-leading companies and aligning investment strategies with national energy priorities.
