Ivette Vera-Perez is a recognized leader with over 20 years of experience in energy, cleantech, and sustainability. Her background includes strategic planning, business development, and advancing low-carbon solutions through cross-sector collaboration. She holds a Master of Applied Science from UBC and an MBA from McGill University. Before joining the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI), Ivette served as President and CEO of the Canadian Hydrogen Association, where she led the rebranding the organization, expanded its national footprint and more than doubled its membership base. She worked closely with the federal government to advance Canada’s Hydrogen Strategy. Earlier, she led the national industry team at Mitacs and managed over $275 million in GHG reduction programs at the Ontario Centres of Innovation. Ivette has served on the boards of Canada Cleantech Alliance and the Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance, is a founding Director of the Ontario Clean Technology Industry Association (OCTIA) and currently sits on the NRC’s Clean Energy Innovation Research Centre Advisory Board.

Jessica Linthorne is the President and Chief Executive Officer at the Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII), Canada's premier research institute for the clean energy sector. Jessica leads a talented team dedicated to advancing the nuclear industry’s innovative capacity— driving sector transformation projects and skill development for all ages, guided by a commitment to increasing overall safety for the sector, ensuring reliable operations and making life better for workers. Prior to joining the nuclear industry in 2021, she worked in municipal government with a focus on economic development and organizational effectiveness. James Scongack is the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at Bruce Power. In this role James is responsible for organizational transformation and a wide-range of operational and capital project services at the world’s largest operating nuclear facility and Canada’s largest private-sector electricity infrastructure project. He also has responsibility for procurement, supply chain, nuclear regulatory affairs, external affairs, environment, sustainability, asset dispatch, medical isotopes and business development. During his over 20-years of service at Bruce Power, he’s served in several diverse leadership roles at the company including the Vice-President of the Bruce B Generating Station where he was responsible for the safe, reliable operations and project integration at the facility consisting of four large-scale CANDU nuclear reactors. He’s also served as the company’s Vice-President of Environment & Corporate Affairs and in leadership roles reporting to the President & CEO dating back to 2005. James has provided leadership in several large-scale commercial transactions and labour agreements including the 2015 agreement with the Province of Ontario extending the life of the facility to 2064 through a multi-Billion investment program. James serves as Chair of the Independent Electricity System Operator Strategic Advisory Committee, Chair of the Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council and Chair of the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO). He’s previously served as a Director on LifeLabs, Canada’s largest community laboratory services provider and the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. James has been recognized by the Globe and Mail Report on Business 2022 Best Executive Awards and awarded the Platinum Jubilee Award in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 70th Anniversary on the Throne for his work on COVID-19 Provincial vaccination efforts. He’s also a recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 by Caldwell/Bloomberg. James has an Executive MBA from London’s Ivey Business School and a Chartered Director through McMaster’s DeGroote Business School. James holds a master’s degree from the University of Guelph College of Management and Economics in Leadership and a BA (Hons) and has completed Master’s-level Project Management certification through York University’s Schulich Business School. He is also a graduate of the US-based Institute of Nuclear Power Operations Senior Plant Management Program and Bruce Power’s Enhanced Operational Training Program.

Brenda MacDonald is OPG's Chief Commercial Officer. Brenda and her team are responsible for structuring, negotiating, and managing the strategic commercial relationships that support OPG's growth strategy. They are also responsible for all aspects of supply chain and procurement, including OPG's supply chain strategy supporting the company's nuclear and renewable generation operations, as well as growth and corporate functions. Brenda is also responsible for Regulatory Affairs, where she helps develop and execute OPG's regulatory strategies and policies and leads the company's interactions with economic regulators, market operators, and reliability organizations. Brenda joined OPG in 2013 as Vice President, Law and General Counsel. In this role, she was accountable for overseeing and managing OPG's legal affairs. In 2017, she took on the role of Vice President, Regulatory Affairs. Before joining OPG, Brenda spent more than 15 years at Bell Canada Enterprises (BCE), holding various positions, including Assistant General Counsel for BCE's Business Markets and Procurement. She also served as counsel for Abitibi-Consolidated (now Resolute Forest Products). Brenda received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from St. Francis Xavier University. She also holds a Master of Political Science in Political Studies and a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University. She currently serves as President of the Board of the Association of Corporate Counsel (Ontario Chapter).

Currently serving as Senior Program Manager at E.S. Fox he has led well over 100 Nuclear Service and construction contracts as well as championed initiatives within E.S. Fox which demonstrate how small changes—whether a process improvement, a mentorship moment, or a new approach to problem-solving—can lead to significant, lasting impact. With more than 15 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, estimating, and business development, including eight years at Hooper Welding, Steve combines technical expertise with a passion for Canadian manufacturing. A licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario, Steve believes that meaningful success is built through continuous improvement and the accumulation of small, purposeful changes. His career in the nuclear industry has paralleled Hooper Welding's own growth, from supporting ASME Section VIII pressure vessels under CSA N299.3 to the fabrication of ASME Section III components under CSA N299.2 requirements. Through this journey, Steve has seen firsthand how incremental improvements in quality, documentation, training, and accountability can transform an organization and prepare it for increasingly complex work. He previously served as the White House Assistant Director for Nuclear Energy, where he led domestic nuclear energy policy efforts and was lead author of the first-of-its-kind U.S. strategy for safely and responsibly expanding nuclear energy. Prior to this role, Jonathan spent over 17 years in positions of increasing responsibility at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, including Executive Technical Assistant to the Executive Director for Operations, where he led high-visibility initiatives related to nuclear power safety, licensing, economics, and policy. Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both in materials science and engineering, as well as an MBA from the University of Maryland.

Adam Kahgee is Anishinabe from Saugeen First Nation #29. Adam has had a strong connection to his community and understanding of Indigenous rights from a young age, watching his father, former Chief Richard Kahgee fight for fishing rights and championing the Duluth Declaration which declared sovereignty over the waters around the SON territory. He channeled these learnings into an interest and passion for Indigenous rights, attending York University for Honours BA and Osgoode Hall Law School for his Juris Doctorate. After roles with RBC, Chiefs of Ontario and Shaw Media, Adam returned to the SON territory to work with Bruce Power, holding leadership roles in Supply Chain, Corporate Affairs and Human Resources. In 2023, recognizing the emerging opportunities and critical national importance of nuclear energy, he launched a private equity fund dedicated exclusively to control buyout and growth investments in nuclear energy services and equipment companies, raising $450 million in commitments. This groundbreaking platform positioned Pelican as a leader in the next chapter of the U.S. energy transition. In doing so, Scott was able to assemble a distinguished investor base of more than 30 former CEOs, 20 former energy company owners, and leading endowments, foundations, pensions, and family offices. Prior to founding Pelican, Scott was a Principal at Sorenson Capital Partners, a private equity firm with $650 million under management, where he led multiple energy services and adjacent-sector investments. He previously served as Chairman of NCS Energy Services and as a Director of Southeast Directional Drilling and M&M Pipeline. Scott previously held leadership positions at Cameron International Corporation including corporate development, global sourcing, and lean manufacturing initiatives across the U.S. and Europe. As an engineer at Valtek International and AlliedSignal, he designed products for industrial power generation, earned multiple technical awards, and received five patents. Scott holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. With 25 years of nuclear industry experience, Ms. Cherevaty’s career includes over 20 years of experience at Atomic Energy of Canada (AECL) and Kinectrics, where she held various operational and business development leadership roles for reactor refurbishments, inspection and maintenance systems, reverse engineering and asset life cycle management. Ms. Cherevaty holds a bachelor’s degree in applied science in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto and a bachelor’s degree in education for mathematics and physics from the University of Toronto. She is a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario and holds her Professional Project Management from Project Management institute (PMI). Ms. Cherevaty is a board member on the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI). Ms. Cherevaty is also a former Professional Women’s Hockey Player. She played Varsity Hockey at the University of Toronto, capturing a National Championship and was inducted into the University of Toronto Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

Eric Chassard is President and CEO of Bruce Power. Eric previously served as the company’s Executive Vice-President of Projects and Engineering, where he successfully led the on-time and on-budget delivery of Bruce Power’s Life-Extension Program, which included delivering the first of six unit refurbishments ahead of schedule and under budget in 2023. Eric has an extensive background in the nuclear industry and has held a series of senior executive positions both in nuclear operations and overseeing multibillion-dollar project portfolios. Prior to joining Bruce Power, Eric was CEO of Menter Newydd, a joint venture between Hitachi, Bechtel and JGC responsible for the construction of the Wylfa nuclear power plants. He also held increasingly senior positions within the AREVA Group, most recently serving as Senior Executive Vice-President of AREVA covering worldwide engineering, supply chain and project activities. Eric has a degree in Engineering specializing in Nuclear Engineering and holds a post-graduate diploma in Nuclear Reactor Physics. In 2018, he was awarded the French National Order of Merit for his leadership contributions to AREVA. Eric proudly became a Canadian citizen in 2023.
